Job Description: Property Management Affordable Housing Specialist
Position Overview:
The Property Management Affordable Housing Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing affordable housing properties within the real estate and property management industry. This role requires a strong understanding of affordable housing regulations, compliance, and eligibility requirements. The specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful operation of affordable housing units and to provide exceptional service to residents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of affordable housing properties, including leasing, maintenance, budgeting, and tenant relations.
2. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local affordable housing regulations, including income verification, rent calculations, and reporting requirements.
3. Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and code violations, and coordinate timely resolutions.
4. Collaborate with property owners, management companies, and housing agencies to establish and maintain partnerships and effective communication channels.
5. Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract eligible applicants for affordable housing units, ensuring compliance with fair housing laws.

7. Coordinate with maintenance staff and contractors to ensure timely resolution of repair and maintenance issues.

9. Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to affordable housing programs, including tenant files and leasing agreements.
10. Stay updated on changes in affordable housing regulations, attend training sessions, and guide staff and residents on program updates and requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field (preferred).
2. Proven experience in property management, specifically in affordable housing.
3. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing affordable housing programs.
4. Familiarity with income verification, rent calculations, and occupancy requirements.
5. Strong understanding of fair housing laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all aspects of property management.
